It’s November month and yes as the cliché goes… it’s time to reflect on 2016.
As excited as I am about the year that is coming to an end, I stand with a heart filled with gratitude as I look back on the past year.
A few weeks ago I had a real tough time with myself. Yes I fight with myself…
I get mad when things don’t go my way… real mad.
I argue with myself when I cannot find the right tone on any given day to respond to the inevitable negative experiences of life.
I give up.
My hustle comes to a hault.
That’s human. Right?
But human or not, the fight must be won, and the only way to do so is to commit to change…
Change of mindset…
To change my attitude.
So I started digging for healing prayers and affirmations and practical strategies.
Something simple enough to put into action immediately.
Something that is doable.
But it all starts with committing to the change.
Now I am no psychologist, but I do know that behaviour starts with a single thought.
Thoughts stimulate emotions, which then result in attitude and eventually will produce behaviour.
You might have heard the expression ” Toxic thoughts produce toxic emotions…”
Well it’s true.
As toxic thoughts produces toxic emotion, so does it produce toxic attitudes, resulting in toxic behavioir.
It is also a fact, that we can control each step of the process.
Think yellow instead of black…
Think minions instead of transformed gremlins…
Yes YOU CAN choose your happiness!
And YOU CAN choose your attitude.
If buying that lipstick that makes you feel amazingly beautiful makes you happy, buy it!
If sitting on the beach with yourself makes you feel like you are in a wonderful world, go and sit there right now!
If taking 77 pictures of your lunch before you eat it sparks joy in your heart, keep snapping!
If playing that song super loud in traffic and singing along to it makes you more cheerful, turn up the volume!
Today, think HAPPY thoughts.
Choose your happiness.
Sing HAPPY songs.
So today, Be your own kind of HAPPY.
