You realise you have not gone shopping and now need and instant plan!When in doubt… Koo is the best you can do!
This is no secret, and your Mom and her Mom will tell you that Koo has been no stranger in the kitchen. Koo is the bruh! You know, like everyone’s favourite, everyone’s friend, all the pots and pans get along so well with anything Koo has to offer.
When I attended the EC Meet Up earlier this year we were gifted with the latest newbies of the Mzanzi favourites tins.
This great gift included the new Koo Baked Beans Lite and Fruit Cocktail Lite in addition to the Cape Malay Curry.
I love how easy it is to “throw together” something with a can of Koo!
Now because I am a liker of things and of sharing, I am about to share my two fave eazy peazy “throw together” salads with the help of Koo.
INGREDIENTS:
- 1 can KOO Chakalaka
- 1 can KOO Baked Beans
- 1 tsp. olive oil
- 1 large red pepper, deseeded and chopped
- Handful chopped coriander
- Salt and milled pepper
KITCHEN GADGETS:
- Large bowl
- Large spoon for mixing
METHOD:
- Mix together in a large bowl your 2 cans.
- Add olive oil, red pepper, coriander and seasoning.
- Allow to chill in fridge.
- Serve cold.
This salad will give you more time at the braai and less time in the kitchen.
It goes perfectly with a lekker piece of wors and a chop!
The seconds salad is another braai time favourite and also lovely for Sunday lunch add ons.
INGREDIENTS:
- 1 can KOO Kernal Corn
- 1 large cucumber
- 3 tbsp. mayo
- Handful chopped fresh basil
- Salt and milled pepper
KITCHEN GADGETS:
- Large bowl
- Large spoon for mixing
- Knife for chopping
METHOD:
- Cut up your cucumber in whatever size you like
- Mix together in a large bowl your drained can of corn and cucumber.
- Add mayo, basil and seasoning.
- Allow to chill in fridge.
- Serve cold.
Easy enough? You can even add tuna or chicken!
